In January of 1999, he began formal studies of both painting and drawing at the Old Church Cultural Center School of Art in Demarest, New Jersey, primarily with Bob Glaisek. Since relocating to Norfolk, MA in 2000, he has studied with Michael Dowling, Teri Malo and Rosetta Nasisi at the Danforth Museum School of Art in Framingham, MA, and with Ed Stitt as a member of the Carriage House Painting Group in Newton, MA.
He has also participated in workshops on oil painting landscapes with Joseph McGurl and Arnold Desmarais, and still lifes with Robert Douglas Hunter. Ken has also taken classes in computer graphics and oil painting at the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).
His work has been accepted for juried exhibitions, including the Attleboro Museum’s “2005 Small Works”, the Duxbury Museum’s “2005 Winter Juried Show”, the Cape Cod Art Association’s “New England Exhibition”, the “15th Annual New Jersey Small Works Show”, the Danforth Museum of Art, and at the Zullo Gallery in Medfield, MA. Ken’s paintings have also been exhibited at the Hopper House Art Center, Nyack, N.Y.; the St. Augustine Art Association, St. Augustine, Fl.; the Premier Image Gallery, Ashland, MA, the Mill Works Gallery, Uxbridge, MA, The Artist’s Gallery in Dennis, MA and the Old Church Cultural Center. His work has been mentioned favorably in both the Boston Globe and the Attleboro Sun Chronicle.
Ken is an Artist Member, and currently on the Board of Directors at the Cape Cod Art Association, and an Artist Member of the Wellesley Society of Artists.
